Why this report exists

Most real estate news is written for the whole country. Your home isn't in the whole country.

A rate jump in Washington or a price drop in Austin gets reported like it's happening on your street. The Quad Cities doesn't always move with the national numbers, and the details that drive value here are different.

Your home is probably the biggest asset you own. Decisions about it deserve local information, real sources and someone who will tell you what the numbers actually mean.

What this means for sellers

In all five cities, homes are selling within about 1% of their asking price. That tells you buyers here will pay full value for a home that's priced right, and they notice fast when one isn't. In my experience, the homes that sell well are priced right from the first day, not chased down with reductions later.

Who writes it

Hi, I'm Sheri Mason.

I've sold real estate full time for 24 years, the last 14 here in the Quad Cities with Mel Foster Co. Since moving my business here, I've closed more than 230 transactions. In 2025 I ranked 11th out of 137 agents at Mel Foster. I live in LeClaire, and I'm licensed in both Iowa and Illinois.

I write this report the same way I'd explain the market to a client sitting at my kitchen table: what happened, where the numbers came from, and what it means for you. Good real estate decisions come from good information, not guesswork.
